SOCIAL PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT IN MDF
•MDF started to conduct Social Audit by using Quality Audit Tool - developed by MFC from Poland, at the end of 2007. The main goal was to review the state and effectiveness of management systems and processes for achieving mission and social goals.
Interviews with selected participants (Managers, Board member, LOs and Clients) were performed by Internal Controller in November and December 2007 following three groups of questions, which referred to: designing mission and social goals, as strategies for their achievements, then to the whole SP information system – information quality, communication and analyses, and finally to the use of SP information and the influence on decision making, as organizational culture and alignment of incentive and other similar management systems.
Further, main tasks in 2008 have been related to creating impartial Draft Report regarding Social Performance Audit, and organizing and holding Audit Panel in order to discuss findings from the Report, which were expressed as strengths, weaknesses or discussion points.
Audit Panel was held in Belgrade with participation of almost all interviewed MDF employees and MFC trainer - who were helping with advice during the process. Panel attendants took an active participation and discussed all important findings, especially those which were considered as negative or disputable, and came to conclusions and actions needed to be implemented in order to improve status and effectiveness of SPM in MDF.
Activities agreed to be taken in 2008, additionally were formulated within Action Plan and ranked as more or less important for the organization, with defining the responsible person/body and necessary resources in order to be implemented.
Finally, two MDF representatives took part at final Regional SPM Working Group Meeting in Warsaw in March 2008, where the main purpose was to share experience with other participants on SPM generally and on Social Audit and implementation of QAT additionally.
